About Us

We - Uschi Rader, Thomas Wanasek and our son Bernhard, live in Prellenkirchen, a nice village near Vienna. Here our son has the freedom he needs and our dogs get enough exercise in the countryside nearby.
We train obedience and agility with our dogs. But our main task is Search and Rescue. We are members of Vienna Red Cross Search and Rescue Dog Team, where we are training our dogs for SAR-missions. Some of our Aussies are therapy dogs as well.

We first learned about Australian Shepherds through Western Riding. We decided to have a pup of this breed and so we got Joy, our first Aussie. And since then we are hooked on this breed. These dogs have so many qualities that we are so fascinated of.
We train our dogs with positive reinforcement (clickertraining, play and food reward), without physically forcing the dog and with the least pressure possible. This kind of training is ideal for Australian Shepherds, since this breed is very biddable and easy to train and we were very successful in training our Aussies this way.
For us our dogs are beloved family members. They enrich our daily life in so many ways. We cannot imagine a life without our dogs and we think the same as Roger Caras:
"Dogs are not our whole life, but they make our lives whole"
